The Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) is Western North Carolina’s home for experiential science learning, discovery, and exploration. AMOS strives to spark the imagination and foster lifelong curiosity.
We have plenty of science for you to explore at our downtown Asheville location and online! We proudly showcase the Colburn Hall of Minerals, our self guided and interactive STEM lab, an interactive panorama screen, the Teratophoneus dinosaur skeleton and fossil dig, Southern Appalachian Forest tree climb, Terrabox elevation simulator, Toddler Nest, fun temporary exhibits, and our unique Museum Store.
AMOS provides informal Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) education to science explorers of all ages, with emphasis on grades Pre-K to 8. We are both a museum and a science learning center, with STEAM educators that partner with schools, libraries, and community organizations that serve our region’s students.
