Support the Go Local Movement

Go Local Asheville is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting local independent businesses in Asheville and the surrounding towns and cities in Buncombe and neighboring counties.

Go Local has never asked for donations before, but we can use your help now. Hurricane Helene had a big impact on our local independent business community. Businesses that were located next to rivers were washed away in the floods or had such terrible water damage, they’re unable to reopen. While our downtown businesses were not flooded, they were closed during their busiest month of the year because of lack of electricity, internet, and water. While most of the utilities have returned, as of now, potable (drinking) water has not. That means that restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, breweries, spas, and other businesses that rely on potable water in their establishments are either having to pay for potable water, which is very expensive and unsustainable, or have to stay closed. Neither are good choices. And in a city where businesses make a large percentage of their revenue from tourism, not having restaurants and hotels open means a drastic reduction in revenue for everyone.

Go Local supports our local independent business community using business directories, social media, education and networking events, and advocacy. If you’d like to support this community, and the Go Local Movement we’d be so appreciative if you donated below.

Thank-you!
