Sustained by a passion for fiber, Local Cloth is a volunteer-led non-profit network of fiber artist, farmers, small-scale fiber processors and fiber enthusiasts, dedicated to growing and supporting the local fiber economy in Western North Carolina, and increasing awareness of and access to regional production and artisan practices. Our vision is for a regional fiber system that is healthy, abundant and sustainable, where farmers, designers and artists make a living wage.
Our Shop + Studio is located in the heart of Asheville’s River Arts District. We offer year-round workshops and interest groups, as well as host special events including our seasonal markets and the annual Anything Fiber Sale.
Whether you are an artist by trade or just wanting to learn how to make beautiful items to wear or put in your home consider becoming a member and try a workshop or join an interest group! Many of our instructors have taught at John C. Campbell Folk School, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, and other nationally recognized programs.
